Digital Communication Tools and Preferences in the Work Environment

ABSTRACT

Effective communication is a fundamental pillar of the functioning of every modern workplace, and its importance is growing especially in the dynamic and critical environment of the current market. With the rapid emergence of innovative digital technologies, not only the forms of internal communication but also the overall expectations surrounding it are naturally transforming. This article focuses in detail on the preferences of students of the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, examining their relationship to digital tools, the integration of artificial intelligence and overall communication practices in their future professional field. Based on in-depth data from a questionnaire survey, we analyze the importance of an open team culture, preferred communication channels – from traditional personal interaction and emails to platforms such as Microsoft Teams – and the key importance of systematic feedback from superiors. The aim of the article is to identify how the younger generation perceives digital channels and what their specific demands are on the employer’s communication culture. The findings obtained offer management valuable information for building effective and attractive strategies that directly support employee engagement, loyalty, and overall satisfaction in the digital era.
